This Week at Bella Vino

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Hi Everyone,

I am very excited about this weeks wine tasting. Dan Brennan for Wineberries will be pouring 3 delicious wines from Pezzi King vineyards. I had the pleasure and good fortune to spend some time with the owners of Pezzi King while on my recent trip to California. They were as fabulous as their wines. All 3 of the wines are new to New Hampshire. So, you just might be the first to taste them.

This weeks September Anniversary special will be 10% off all oils and vinegars in stock. We will also continue to run last weeks special of 15% off all hand painted Italian ceramic’s.

2006 Pezzi King – Sauvignon Blanc – Dry Creek Valley, California - Rich with ripe citrus, tropical fruit, mango, and pineapple. Bright and refreshing, medium weight, finishes with notes of honeyed grapefruit and lemon zest. ($15.99)

2004 Pezzi King – Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County California - Dark ruby in color with inviting scents of cedar, black currant, rich plum and elegant, spicy oak. Supple texture, ripe tannins and a lush full bodied finish. ($18.99)

2005 Pezzi King – Zinfandel Old Vines – Dry Creek Valley, California - A classic Dry Creek Valley Old Vines Zinfandel, black raspberry and spice on the nose. Big, ripe and expressive. Soft tannins, warm notes of caramel, melts in your mouth. ($22.99)

ADDITIONAL NEW WINE

2005 Perfecta – Merlot – Napa Valley, California - A fruity nose with subtle oak aromas. Smooth and mellow with a sweet berry flavor but finishes strong at the back of the tongue. ($18.99)

Our wine tasting on Thursday is from 4:30 to 7:00.

This Week at Bella Vino

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. The end of September will mark Bella Vino’s one year aniversary. It has been a great year, mainly because of all of you!! I have been fortunate to meet and get to know so many great new friends. We will have a big celebration at the end of the month. Still working on the details. But to help jump start the celebration my very best Champagne (described below) will be 20% off for the month of September. I will also have weekly specials throughout September. This week will feature all hand painted Italian ceramic’s at 15% off.

We thought it would be fun to feature a Champagne and a dessert wine. Sheila promises something tasty!!

J.Lassalle Brut Rose – Champagne, France – 93 Pts. Robert Parker. This small family Champagne house is named for the late Jules Lassalle and today is run by his widow and daughter. Their production is a mere 6,000 cases annually – as much wine as some of the better known Champagne brands will bottle in one day. This champagne exhibits a light salmon/pinkish hue, and a gorgeously fresh, ripe nose of framboise reminiscent of a kir royale. This concentrated, yet delicate, flavored Champagne is dry, intensely rich, with plenty of cherry/strawberry-like flavors, medium body, and a long, fresh finish. ($44.99 WoM $35.99)

Essensia Quady Orange Muscat – Sweet Desert Wine – California - 100% Orange Muscat with an aroma reminiscent of Orange Blossom and Apricot, and a lingering refreshing aftertaste. Essensia is used as a dessert accompaniment or a dessert in itself. The Orange Muscat grape variety is little known. It was once grown in France and there are some small plantings in Italy and Australia. The wine is lightly fortified to about 15% alcohol and aged for 3 months in French Oak. The wine tastes balanced, like the taste of fresh fruit. ($18.99)

Our wine tasting on Thursday is from 4:30 to 7:00.

Until then – Cheers!
